In my PREVIOUS POST, I did a quick overview of what is new in the Organizer. If you are familiar with earlier versions, you know that PSE 2018 includes both the Organizer and the Photo Editor modules.

In the coming weeks and months, I will be posting tutorials on several of the new features, but for now, here is quick rundown. I have been using the beta version for the past several months, and PSE 2018 has several new features that I am sure will be popular with new and old users alike. Announcing the next version of Elements in Fall has become a ritual with Adobe. Previously this version would have been named Photoshop Elements 16, since the latest commercial version in stores is Photoshop Elements 15.Д¬LICK HERE to view their announcement. They have changed the official name to Photoshop Elements 2018. However you chose to access Refine Edge, brush or tool, it can really improve your selections, especially if they contain hair.ДЄdobe has released their latest version of Photoshop Elements.

Linda Sattgast ( has an excellent YouTube video describing how to use the Refine Selection Brush. It basically is just an alternative way to access the basic capability. This tool works essentially the same as the Refine Edge. There is also the Refine Selection Brush tool, that is available as one of the selection tools from within the Tool Option bar as shown below.

You can still access it from Select > Refine Edge from the Menu bar, however.Д¬lick on theВ link below to open the PDF file containing the tutorial. Accessing the tool has been made easier in more recent versions of PSE, because there is a button to access the tool from the various selection tools, as shown in the figure below. This tutorial will cover the Refine Edge Tool. Additionally, I will be posting tutorials that go into more of the details on how to use the brand new features of PSE 2018. Well, now that PSE 2018 has been released, I will continue the series, but will be using PSE 2018 for the figures and any changes to the steps in PSE 15 that were introduced in PSE 2018.

If you have been reading my blog posts for the past several months, you know I have been posting a series of Photoshop Elements 15 tutorials, covering both the Organizer and the Photo Editor. I will be continuing the series shortly usig PSE 2018. They all are PDF files that can be downloaded and printed. These tutorials are based on updated handouts that were part of my Photoshop Elements classes I taught. As you can see, the title is embedded in the link, so you can quickly find a topic you may be interested in. A list of the links to the tutorials is shown below. I started with the Organizer, and then moved on to the Photo Editing tutorials. However, those that were written using PSE 15 screen shots as the figures are virtually the same for PSE 2018, the latest version of Elements.ДЇor those of you who are new followers of my blog, links to the tutorial posts are shown below. When PSE 2018 was released I switched to this new version.

I suspect at some point most of you will want to begin to shoot at least some RAW images in your camera.
